Travelodge Giving Away 100 Free Stays to Celebrate Sleepy Bear’s Birthday

In celebration of its beloved mascot’s 58th birthday, the Travelodge® hotel brand is launching “Sleepy’s Birthday Bonanza Sweepstakes,” giving fans of the bear across the U.S. a chance to win their share of 100 free night stays at Travelodge hotels.
Now through May 30, 2012, Wyndham Rewards® members who visit and like the Travelodge Facebook page (www.facebook.com/travelodge) can enter daily for their chance to win either a weekly prize of two free night stays at any Travelodge hotel in the U.S. or a grand prize of 20 free night stays.
“Sleepy Bear may very well be one of the most loved hotel mascots in North America but despite his age, he’s just as young and fun as ever,” said Rui Barros, Travelodge brand senior vice president. “What better way for us to celebrate with all of his loyal fans than to offer up 100 free night stays redeemable at any of our more than 340 U.S. Travelodge hotels?”
During the sweepstakes, ten first prize winners will be awarded every week for four consecutive weeks starting May 10, 2012, with each winner receiving 32,000 Wyndham Rewards points, enough for a two night stay at any U.S. Travelodge hotel.
Upon conclusion of the sweepstakes, one grand prize winner will be randomly selected from amongst all remaining eligible non-winning entries to receive 320,000 Wyndham Rewards points, enough for 20 free night stays at any U.S. Travelodge hotel. Just last month, the newest version of the mascot made his debut in the Travelodge brand’s updated “Stay Close to Adventure” marketing campaign, which was developed with the help of Berlin Cameron United of New York. Computer animated for the first time ever, gone are his “ready for sleep” eyes and bedtime attire and in their place a more energetic look complete with big friendly eyes and a sporty blue vest.
