Players Can Win Vacations For Life at 2008 Wyndham Championship Courtesy of Wyndham Vacation Ownership
Hole- in-One on Sedgefield Country Club’s 16th Earns Golfers Lifetime of Vacations
Greensboro, N.C. (August 8, 2008) –
Wyndham Vacation Ownership is giving players at the 2008 Wyndham Championship a unique, first-of-its kind chance to win a lifetime of vacations with the “Vacations for Life” Hole-in-One Challenge. Any of the 156 tournament players acing the 16th hole of the Sedgefield Country Club during the tournament will win this exclusive prize. The Challenge is valid every time the 16th hole is played and is applicable for multiple winners.
Wyndham's “Vacations for Life” prize provides vacation flexibility - a deeded vacation ownership interest to the player's choice of one of four premier Wyndham Vacation Ownership resorts; membership in Wyndham's exchange program which provides access to world-class resorts across the United States, Canada, Mexico, South Pacific and the Caribbean; and a variety of other distinctive travel options available to Wyndham owners.
“We believe our hole-in-one challenge is one of the most exceptional prizes on the PGA TOUR and we're extremely proud to award a vacation ownership that will span the lifetime of these tournament players and their family members,” said Franz Hanning, president and CEO, Wyndham Vacation Ownership. “It takes a tremendous amount of dedication and determination to play on the PGA TOUR. These players not only deserve to unwind away from the pressures of the game but, most importantly, they need to take scheduled vacations with their family and friends for their health and well-being.”
Hole-in-one Challenge winners will receive a deeded vacation ownership interest in either Wyndham Bonnet Creek Resort in Orlando, Fla.; Wyndham Grand Desert Resort in Las Vegas, Nev.; Wyndham Oceanside Pier Resort in Oceanside, Calif.; or Wyndham Kona Hawaiian Resort in Kailua-Kona on the Big Island of Hawaii. Additionally, winners will gain membership into the company's points-based exchange program, which provides them a flexible way to use their ownership for cruises, hotel stays and guided trips as well as additional special membership benefits.
With Wyndham Vacation Ownership's flexible points-based exchange program, owners receive an allotment of points for use annually or biannually, depending on their purchase. Hole-in-one winners will have the option of vacationing at their selected home resort or they may use their equivalent number of points to stay at any of the company's extensive portfolio of resorts, depending on availability. With the points-based program, owners have maximum flexibility in selecting the timing, duration, locations and accommodations for their vacations. Ownership can be passed to heirs for their future enjoyment.
The 16th hole at Sedgefield presents an impressive challenge. A par-3 hole, players must successfully navigate their shot over a water hazard onto a raised green. Those who will boast of a hole-in-one accomplishment and become a winner of the “Vacations for a Lifetime” Challenge will be awarded their prizes upon verification of the hole-in-one.
