In addition to collecting stories, the contest offers RCI members the chance to play games, win instant prizes and learn some fun RCI trivia at RCI.com\ExploreMore. The sweepstakes, which runs through November 9, 2009, will award one lucky member a grand prize vacation of his or her choice to New York City, to a Disney Vacation Club Resort at The Walt Disney World ® Resort or Mexico.

“We’re inviting our members to test their RCI knowledge and have a little fun while trying to win some great prizes,” said Gordon Gurnik, president of RCI North America. “Even better, this sweepstakes has generated terrific interest from our members and given us the opportunity to hear directly from them about the great vacations RCI offers and the vacation memories we’ve helped deliver.”

“We had just been planning our trip to Aruba for our 37th Anniversary. After our daughters wedding on August first, we were in great need of a honeymoon. On the downside, my wife Pam has been recovering from cancer a couple of years ago and we were afraid it was becoming active again. She decided that she would like to see a doctor in North Carolina for a thorough check up. The more I thought about it, I decided we did not just want to travel from Texas to North Carolina for a doctor visit. Why not try our best to make it like a vacation. Instead of staying in a boring hotel room, why not see if we could find something, last minute in a condo in the mountains. I made the call with a lot of doubt about finding anything. After explaining our situation, the nice representative with RCI managed to book a trip to Sugar Mountain in Sugar, North Carolina, the day after our Aruba trip. This was great, allowing us to just fly from Aruba to North Carolina. The people at Sugar were wonderful and very informative and helped us every time we needed help. They also did it with a smile on their faces. Our accommodations were great, with a beautiful view. I even managed to get in a little fly fishing! Not bad for a doctor visit! The trip was great, but the best news was the great results from the doctor visit. With the grace of God, it looks like we will be able to enjoy many such visits in the future. “Because of RCI we were able to travel to England for a trip of a lifetime. For seven days we traveled the canals near Nottingham in our very own narrow boat stopping at pubs along the way. Visiting with the locals while opening and closing the locks to find out ‘what not to miss’ as we traveled was a highlight. Because of RCI we hope to do this same type of trip in the future in Wales. Isn’t it great how RCI has taken us to places we didn’t even know existed?
